The Lodge Policies

  • How to make a reservation?

       Please book your reservations for The Lodge @ Charlie's Country Place, through the Airbnb link on our website or you can also make reservations directly on the Airbnb website; The Lodge

  • Pet Policy and charge

       The Lodge is a dog-friendly property, and we are happy to host maximum two,  well-socialized, well-trained dogs per reservation. A pet fee of $50 per stay will be applied. In all outdoor areas, your dog must be leashed and under full control of their handler. Any property damages caused by pets will be assessed and you may be charged for the repair and/or replacement of any damaged item at the sole discretion of management. If your dog is over 60 lbs. please contact us via email to discuss the accommodation.

       Should you decide to leave your dog(s) unattended at The Lodge for any period of time, the dog(s) must be left in a crate.  You’re welcome to bring your own crate or, upon request, we have two crates available at The Lodge; one for small and one for medium size dogs.

       Alternatively, there is a wonderful dog boarding facility just a few miles away from The Lodge, at 34 Allen Road, Argyle, NY, called Anastasia Acres. They are able to accommodate daytime or overnight boarding as long as your dogs are well socialized.  Reservations are requested.  Anastasia’s phone number is 518 538-5209.


  • Vegetarian diet and policy

       We ask that our guests store, prepare and consume foots that are consistent with vegetarian diets.  No meat, pork, poultry, or fish products are permitted at The Lodge.  We are committed to sustainability, which is why we are proud to offer vegetarian and plant-based diets to our guests. We believe in doing our part to protect the environment and provide fresh, local produce that not only tastes great but also aligns with our values. Our garden is filled with a variety of vegetables and herbs that we incorporate into our meals, as well as organic eggs and dairy products from local suppliers. If you want to take your culinary experience to the next level, you can even book our vegetarian chef service, which will leave your taste buds singing.


  • Smoking policy

       The Lodge is a smoke-free property. Please be aware that, if you or your guests choose to smoke in any part of the interior premises,  a $500 cleaning fee will be added to your bill. There are ample areas outdoors for smoking away from other guests and we kindly ask that you dispose of your smoking waste in a safe and non-littering fashion.


  • What is the cancellation policy?

       Up to 30 days prior to check-in: Full refund

       29-14 days prior to check-in: 50% refund

       13-7 days prior to check-in: 25% refund

       6 days and less prior to check-in: No refund


  • Maximum guests and fee for extra guests

       8 guests maximum.  There is the possibility of accommodating one extra guest on a sleep sofa that's located in the Library. The fee for an additional guest is $100.00 per night. 

  • Do you accept bookings for one room?

       No. The Lodge currently only accepts bookings for the entire property.

       At The Lodge, we aim to create memorable experiences for our guests which both reflect and protect the unique environment and community in which we are located.  This sustainability ethos has become our daily way of life, and that of our guests during their stay at The Lodge, and hopefully long after they've return home. We have absolute respect for the community in which we are located and the impact of tourism on the people, heritage and environment of the area. We are particularly focused on the preservation of local culture, heritage and the environment.

       We can help arranging for pick up and drop off services with Chuck Dutcher’s Driving Service.

  • Parking onsite

       We have a 4-car parking area available for our guests


Check in and check out

  • What time is check-in and check-out?

       Check-in: Begins at 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on your check-in date.

       Check out: By 11:00 a.m. on your check-out date.


  • Can I request an early check-in or late check-out?

       Early or late check-in or check-out is possible according to availability.  There will be an additional fee for early or late check-in or check-out according to the specific request and circumstance.


  • How do I check in if I am arriving after hours?

       If you will be arriving after hours, please contact us as early as possible via text or call 518.316.1751 or email at


  • Can I store my luggage before check-in or after check-out?

       Yes, please see our manager for luggage storage before check-in, or after check-out.


  • Is any meal included in my room rate?

      There are no meals included with your room rate, however there will be farm fresh eggs, local coffee, dairy products, and maple syrup in the Welcome Basket which you are welcome to enjoy.  Special Meals prepared by one of our excellent chefs and Picnic lunches can be prepared according to your request.  Please contact Klara to make arrangements. 


  • I lost something. Do you have a lost and found?

Facilities and Services

  • Is room service offered?

       Room service is available by request.  Please notify us of your desire for room service at your earliest convenience in order that we can make arrangements.  An additional service fee will be assessed according to the extent of room services requested. 

  • Hours for swimming pool

       Our swimming pool is scheduled to open mid-June and will close mid-September, 2024.

       The pool is open from seasonally from sunrise to sunset. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are available. Pool towels can be obtained at our front desk; please leave any used towel in the wicker basket located in the Pool House.
       The pool is not monitored by a lifeguard, therefore, it is the guest’s responsibility to follow the pool usage rules (as posted in the pool area) and to ensure their own safety, and the safety of their children in and around the pool area. The Lodge at Charlie's Country Place ownership expressly waives any and all liability in the event of injury or potential death as a result of pool usage. For the safety of all, please keep the pool access gate closed at all times.

       While we greatly encourage a frosty beverage to enjoy poolside, please note that glass is prohibited in the pool area; we can gladly assist with pool-safe glassware.

  • Laundry Room

       Yes, our laundry room is located at the lower level of The Lodge and is available for all guests.

  • Rules of game room

       Our game room is the perfect place to unwind and have some fun, but we do ask that guests follow a few basic rules. To keep the pool table in pristine condition, please do not place any drinks on its top and certainly not on the felt.  Please be sure to put the cover protector back on when you're finished playing.  Additionally, please be mindful of the pool table felt and take proper care so that it remains in excellent, tournament quality condition!

  • How should I book the special "Experiences"? Are they seasonal? What is available during my stay?

       We provide a variety of wonderful "Experiences" that have been curated to further enhance your stay at The Lodge.  These "Experiences" are listed on our website.  Some of them are seasonal and others are available on certain days and during specific times of the day, or night.  Please email for details and booking.



Neighborhood and Activities

  • What’s the best way to get around the area.

       The best way to get around is by automobile.  Should you require a car service, please let us know and we'll make arrangements for you.


  • Grocery store and General store

       The Lodge is located in a very rural area.  As such, guests should plan to bring essentials prior to arrival.  The Lodge also offers a concierge service so that essential food supplies can be procured upon request and with sufficient notification prior to arrival. 

       A wonderful, traditional Vermont general store is located just a few miles away from The Lodge where a limited offering of food supplied are available. Every visit should include a stop at the Sherman Store located in West Rupert, Vermont, about three miles from The Lodge. You'll find an assortment of freshly baked donuts, muffins, and a selection of pre-prepared food items. Say hello to Carol and her wonderful dog, Addie. Its hours are 6 a.m.-6 p.m. on M-S and 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Sunday.

       For a full selection of groceries, a conventional supermarket,  Price Chopper, is located in Granville. Granville is approximately eight miles to the north of The Lodge on Route 22. You'll find a Walgreens in Granville as well.

  • Can we book activities through you, or should we contact them directly?
